Inspired Landscapes — Between Abstraction, Figuration, and Memory
|Charlevoix – particularly Petite-Rivière-Saint-François – as well as Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean and the Quebec City region|

Isabelle Bouchard (IB) is a contemporary visual artist from Quebec, known for her landscapes inspired by Charlevoix—particularly Petite-Rivière-Saint-François —as well as the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean and Quebec City regions. Through a sensitive approach to painting that moves between abstraction and figuration, she explores memory, transformation, and the fragile beauty of the living world. Often rooted in the maritime and mountainous landscapes of Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, her works become contemplative spaces where nature, light, and emotion converge.

Between River, Forest, and Light
I create landscapes inspired by the places that inhabit me: the mountains of Charlevoix – in particular Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, a coastal village along the St. Lawrence River – the horizons of the Saguenay and the banks of the Saint-Charles River in Quebec City.
Each painting becomes a sensitive reconstruction of the living world: a dialogue between the inner self and the world, where nature and memory intertwine.
My work evolves slowly, guided by successive layers, intuition, and movement.
I explore what connects us: memory, change, and love.
